The Breakwater Fiction Contest
prize: $1000 and publication in our Winter issue
We are seeking submissions for pieces that breathe freshness to the form. We are interested in previously unpublished prose ranging from 1,000 - 5,000 words, each with a $10 entry fee. All finalists will be considered for publication.

2019 FINALIST JUDGE: Jane Unrue is hailed by Publishers Weekly as a writer of “muted intensity and subtly disarming power,” Unrue is the author of the short novels Life of a Star (2010) and The House (2000), both published by Burning Deck Press; the short fiction collection Atlassed (2005), published by Triple Press; and the short novel Dear Mr. Erker, published in the final issue (No. 11) of 3rd Bed.
